Aline Daigle passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Northwood Lodge Home for the Aged on August 6, 2026, two months shy of her 90th birthday.

Aline is lovingly remembered by her children Suzanne (Perry), Claude (Sherry), Claudette (Rob), Theresa (Mike), and Michelle (Don). Grandchildren Cindy, Chris, Melissa, Samantha, Tifani, Jenny, Jordan, Michael, Nick, Shelby, Dylan, Michelle, Logan, Jazmin, Jasmine, Isaac, Kiana, Breeann, Oliver, Ethan, Emma, Beau, Great Grandchildren Sadie, Sutton, Parker, Cohen, Marlee, Carter, Jamie, Jacob, Scarlett, Nate, Hannah, Joanna, David, Micheala, Daniela, Jonathan, Wells, Cove, Loch and Myles.

She was predeceased by her parents Adrienne and Lorenzo Garneau, her siblings Rosaire, Jean-Guy, Jeanne D’Arc, Fernand, Léo, Georges, Gilles and Laurette, spouse Ernest Daigle, first set of twins (stillborn girls) and her cherished eldest daughter Joanne (Daigle) Solomon.

Mom was born in St-Antoine-de-Tilly, Quebec, sixth of nine children. She was baptized and raised in the Catholic faith, and was involved in the Catholic Woman’s League throughout her adult life. Mom had an adventurous spirit and after attending finishing school she immersed herself into an English speaking culture in Toronto where she would meet Ernest through her coworker Maria, who would soon become her sister in law. Aline and Ernest started their family in Nova Scotia where they lost twin baby girls at birth. They were then blessed with Irish twins Joanne and Suzanne. Next came a set of Fraternal twins Claudette and Claude and then the best for last Theresa and Michelle (singlets).

When children were old enough mom started to work at the General Hospital in housekeeping where she met her new would be lifelong friend, Jeanne Whitehead, where pranks and laughs were never in short supply - here mom really blossomed.

Mom always enjoyed the outdoors biking, X country skiing, skating, berry picking, gardening and grass burning. She instilled the love of the outdoors in all of her children and her only son became a fire fighter.

In retirement mom fulfilled her need for adventure and travel with her friend Irene (Portugal, Russia, Italy, Spain, Africa, Europe and Alaska) and found enjoyment in life living with her only son and daughter in law. During these happy years she was remembered by the community walking, cleaning up litter, and volunteering, always with a smile on her face.

She was always there knitting, crocheting, baking cookies and ready with a smile or a prank for her grandchildren and these memories they will cherish always.

The family is deeply grateful for the excellent care mom received over many years from the staff at Northwood Lodge Home for the Aged.

A celebration of life will be held at the Red Lake Funeral Chapel, on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 1 pm, with Father Justin Ezez officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Lake Cemetery.

Aline was an active volunteer and found special joy with communities in bloom and club day away, in later years she had also become a client of club day away services. For this reason, we kindly request in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Club Day Away.
