The Family of Bernice Patricia Gillis is saddened to announce her passing the morning of November 9th, 2024 at the Northwood Lodge with her family by her side. She will be forever missed by her children, Cheryl (Mike) Winnipeg, MB, Lorraine (Maurice) Chilliwack, BC, Earl (Sherri) Thunder Bay, ON, David (Sara) Regina, SK, Lloyd (Angie), Cochenour, ON and her seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Bernice was born in Florence Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Ghetto) Thurbide.  She is Predeceased by siblings Agnes, Benny, Joe, Barbara, Anthony, Lorne, Alex, Kevin, and grandson Bradley.  She is survived by her siblings Steven, Brian, Donald, Carlie, and Linda.

Bernice moved to Cochenour, Ontario in 1966 where she was actively involved in the community. We will fondly remember her infectious laugh. She was the kindest, funniest, and most giving person.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 5th at the Forestry Fellowship Hall at 11 am with Kevin Miller officiating.
