Catherine Mary Anne Nestie (many knew her as Cat or Cathy) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, at her home in Ear Falls, Ontario. She was born on February 10th, 1987, to her mother, Roseanne Benson, and father, Hector Benson. She was born in Lloydminister, Alberta and moved to Ear Falls as a young girl, where she met many of the close friends that she still considered her best friends today. She later lived and attended school in Winnipeg for cosmetology before moving back home to Ear Falls to build her life and career.

She will be greatly missed by her family, husband Riley; daughters Ariana and Rylee; and sons Carter, Grayson, and Lorenzo, as well as her many extended family members and friends.

Her days were spent building precious moments with her family and living out her passion as a hairstylist in her own studio. She loved nothing more than connecting with her loyal clients, whom she also thought of as an extension of her family.

Her soul, exuberance, and light were unmatched and will be missed immensely by all who knew her.

Everyone in her hometown and surrounding area knows what a mesmerizing and beautiful place it is to live. When you see the beauty and wonder in each sunrise and sunset, feel the calm wind and warmth of the sunlight with every change in season. That is how her spirit will be remembered, as she was just as beautiful.

Cat is also predeceased by her father, Hector Benson, as well as many aunties, uncles, friends, and family members who will forever hold her in their hearts.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church on Friday, May 29th at 11 am. A private interment will be held at a later date.
