Daniel Odilon
Desforges
February 20, 1957 – July 25, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Desforges at University Hospital in London, Ontario, at the age of 63. Born in Val D'Or Québec and a former resident of Elliot Lake, he moved to Red Lake Ontario in 2001 to continue working in the mines. He loved his summers working and fishing at camp. Loving father of Melanie Desforges (Denis), Manon St. Onge (Jason) and Michael Desforges (Sarah). Cherished grandfather of Austin, Nikole, Sabrina, Alex, Damien, Trinity, Sabien, Temperance, Aria, Kalvin and soon to be, one great grandchild. Pre-deceased by his parents Jean-Louis and Bernadette (née Hébert) Desforges and brother Alain, Daniel is survived by sisters Nicole (Wilfrid), Monique and Linda (Richard) as well as his wife Mona Desforges. An active member of the Knights of Columbus, Daniel was also a prominent member of St. John's Parish in Red Lake. He will be missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.
A small gathering will be held from the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre, followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial from Paroisse Ste. Bernadette's Parish in Elliot Lake.
A private invite only service will be held in St. John the Apostle Parish with Father Justin Eze officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Lake Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. John the Apostle Parish through the Red Lake Chapel, Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0.
In light of the pandemic and restrictions imposed by the province, masks and use of hand sanitizer is mandatory.
