It is with great sorrow and sadness we annouce the passing of Darcie Leah Alfred,36, of Lac Seul First Nation. She passed away Monday March 26th,2018 at her home in Thunder Bay, Ont.
She was born December 1st 1981 in Smithers B.C. Parents of Stanley Raymond Williams and Janie Catherine Alfred of Ear Falls, Ont.
Darcie spent her life living in many parts of the world. At age 18 she enrolled in the U.S Army. She was stationed in Darmstadt, Germany and from there she courageously marched in and was deployed to Kuwait, Iraq. She served as a Generator Mechanic.
Later she then met and married her now former husband, with who
she spent 5 wonderful and Adventurous years exploring and travelling around Europe. They moved back to the U.S living in South Carolina for a few years before moving to their family home in Fountain,Colorado.
She was a loving mother and raised 4 beautiful children who she leaves behind. Xavier Troy Ickes, Hunter Troy Ickes, Phenix Troy Ickes, & Eva Isis Ickes. They loved being in the Outdoors. Hiking in the mountains with their dogs Detour and Bear. They spent many loving moments together. Darcie would enjoy watching her children grow and loved cooking meals for them. What brought her the greatest pleaure was when her family was at home. The kids would play in the back yard. They were always jumping on the trampoline,swimming in the pool, and riding their bikes.
She graduated from the University of Pablo Colorado with her Bachlor of Arts. She was a very talented and creative Artist, with a colorful and imaginative flare that shined through all her Artwork. She lived life with such a thirst for excitement and a determined demeanor. Always looking for a rush, going on adrenaline packed rides with her cousin Chad Wilson.
Darcie is survived by her Mother Janie Alfred (Stanley). Along with her sisters Desiree Alfred, Deirdre Alfred (Edward), Miranda Alfred, Candy Ferfon, Cindy (Scott) Lebarge, Joyce (Mark) Williams, George Williams, Christina Kennedy, Stephanie Lovelace. Her many loving numerous Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and close friends. Predeceased by her father Stanley and brother Robert Kennedy.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 4th, 2018 6pm-8pm at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 in Ear Falls, Ontario.
Funeral services will follow Thursday April 5th 2018 at 1pm officiated by Kevin Miller & Keenan Morrisseau, and traditional prayer by Alice Nummelin with interment in Ear Falls Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Chad Wilson, Damien Wilson, Robert Wilkins, Neil Nummelin, Kevin Singleton, Trevor Aide and Wilfred Alfred.
The honourary pallbearers will be Rose and Rodger Sam, Gilbert Williams, Kenny Williams, Andy Williams, Darren (Beastie) Henry, Mike Williams, Dennis and Dorothy Wilson, Michael Williams, David Williams, Tina and Brock Bieker, Christine Alfred, Sonya Alfred, Leonard Alfred, Charlotte, Reuben, and Peirce Alfred.
