Derek passed away suddenly at the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital after a highway accident. He was born in Thunder Bay, ON, moved to Red Lake in 2008, and in 2010 started his HVAC business, Ducts Unlimited.

Derek had a soft spot for animals and a true passion for cars and was working toward his 5th trade as a mechanic. No matter how rushed he was, he would pause what he was doing to help when it was needed. In his memory, may his kindness live on in others.

A Celebration of Life will be be held on Saturday, August 10th from 1 to 3 pm in the Red Lake Legion Hall Lounge.
