In the early morning of June 28th, 2024, Emily Louise Stoykewich, age 44, passed away after a long battle with her autoimmune disease at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre. Her husband and daughter were in her presence at the time of her passing.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 23 years Ray, children Jade and Cole, mother Mary Jane Scholonkowsky, father Gerald Winterton (Shirley), mother and father in-laws Randy and Sandy Stoykewich, brother Sean, father John Scholonkowsky, sisters Wendy Winterton, Tracy (Vito) Pace, Stacy-Lynn Carchidi (Michael), nieces Shawnisty Robinson (Justin), Courtney Robinson (Dylan), and Isabella Carchidi.

Emily was born in Red Lake, Ontario on May 10th, 1980 to her mother, MaryJane Scholonkowsky and father Gerald Winterton. She grew up in Red Lake with her three sisters until she left for college to pursue her passion for hairdressing, a passion shared by her and her sisters. It was at that time when she met the love of her life and her husband of 23 years, Ray Stoykewich. Later on they would move back to Red Lake to spend the next 19 years raising their two children, Jade and Cole Stoykewich. Today her memory lives on through her family.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 17th at 1 pm at the Evolution Recreation Complex in Balmertown, ON with Kevin Miller officiating.

A private interment will take place at a later date.
