Floyd was surrounded by his family when he peacefully went to be with his Lord. Floyd came to Red Lake in 1954. He worked at various mines and then began his lengthy career in logging. Floyd with others was instrumental in the establishment of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Red Lake. He was active in many local boards and municipal politics, chamber of commerce, mayor and council and was dedicated to doing his best for the community and rarely missed a meeting. Once retired he and the love of his life Audrey began to travel in their van across Canada and the US, and a trip to Hawaii to visit with his brother Cecil and enjoyed a cruise around the islands. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Very rarely did he go anywhere without a few kids tagging along. He loved that he had the opportunity to work with his sons and nephews and shared his knowledge with them. Floyd spent his last 3 1/2 years with his wife in the Northwood Lodge.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years Audrey, son Martin (Brenda), daughter Arlene (Ron), daughter-in-law Willow, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren brothers Wilfred, Bill, Cecil, sisters Martha, Donna, Lillian, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ludwig and Augusta, sons Gary, Brian, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He will be sadly missed by many.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4 ^th at 11 am in the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Montague officiating.

A private interment will take place in the Red Lake Cemetery at a later date.
