Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Gail Cynthia Henderson announces her peaceful passing on May 30, 2025, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 61.

Born on October 31, 1963, in Red Lake, Ontario, Gail was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She dedicated over 40 years of her life to serving her community through her work at the Northwestern Health Unit, where her compassion and commitment left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Gail was the cherished wife of Paul Henderson, with whom she shared 37 loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother to Jayme and Tyler (Justine), and the proud and adoring grandmother of her precious Eleanor. She is lovingly remembered by her mother Mary Pfeifer, sister Carol (John), brother Doug (Alli), and her many nieces and nephews. Gail was predeceased by her father, Harold Pfeifer.

A woman of quiet strength and gentle spirit, Gail found joy in the simple pleasures of life: knitting and sewing gifts for her loved ones, tending to her garden—especially her beloved roses—and, most of all, spending time with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 6 at 7:00 PM at the Super 8 Conference Centre in Red Lake. Interment will follow on Saturday, June 7 at 11:00 AM at the Balmertown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in trust to Gail's granddaughter, Eleanor, whose future Gail held close to her heart. Donations will be accepted by etransfer to rlfuneralchapel@shaw.ca, or by cheque or cash through the Red Lake Chapel, Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with an extra special thank you to the ICU team in Thunder Bay for their compassionate care and support.

Gail's legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
