He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years Dorie, children Georgie (Jim) McCann, Lee (Jim) Moorley, Don (Yvonne) Davis and Cindy (Brent) Reading, grandchildren Ryan, Patrick (Carole-Lynn), Jill (Alan), Kristina (Joey), Jeff (Sarah), Caitie (Chancy), Deanna (Darryl), Janna (Zack) and Jaclyn (Eric) as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Ray and Madeleine, brothers Beryl and Allan as well as his sister Mary.

A celebration of Gareth's life will be held at a later date.
