Obituary

It is with a heavy heart the family is announcing the passing of Gary Charles McFatridge.  He passed away peacefully at his home in Hanmer surrounded by family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30+ years Tracy, his son Colin (Carmen) of Red Lake, his son Dustin (Holly) of Stony Plain, and his four grandchildren, Hailey, Carsyn, Kinley and Mckena.  Also leaving behind his brother Keith (Brenda), Clark (Annie), Donald and sister Annwyl (Ted) and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his father Earl and mother Doris. Gary will also be sadly missed by his mates Paul and Lucy Cocklin of New Zealand and sister-in-law Cindy (Bev) of Espanola.

Gary arrived in Red Lake in 1972 and began working for a variety of employers. His favourite memories were often centred around the Moncrief brothers, Lloyd and Hughie. If he wasn't working he was getting into trouble with his good friend Steve. In 2007 he left Red Lake to begin a new chapter where he travelled the world constructing and upgrading Mines. He absolutely loved his jobs and met many interesting individuals.

A Public celebration of Life will take place at the Red Lake Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday, July 6th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
