Born in Leignitz, Silesia, Germany, Hans W. Schaedel came to Canada in 1961. An avid traveler, Hans' favourite locations included South Tyrol, Cuba and the town where he grew up, Löwenberg, Silesia.

Hans was predeceased by his wife Inge, grandson Zachary and three sisters. Hans is survived by daughter Elisabeth (Mike) and sons Andreas, Christian and Hans as well as grandchildren Nick, Pam, Sophie and Alex.

Hans will be remembered as a father, grandfather, traveler and activities (canoeing, skiing, biking, ham radio, hiking in the Arntal and piloting his Cesna).

A private family celebration of his life will be held and interment will follow in the Red Lake Cemetery.
