It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Joseph Boivin, who passed away February 9, 2014 with his family by his side.
Harold was born November 22, 1944 in Geraldton, ON. Harold was a career miner who worked at many headframes before settling down at Campbell Mine and moving to Balmertown in 1988. A dedicated employee and hard worker he remained working at the Campbell headframe for 26+ years.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Pauline, son Ricky (Michelle), daughter Tara (Warren) and his pride and joy 5 grandchildren Autumn, Hayden, Paige, Ruby and Mia. Harold was the son of Charlie and Yvettte (Leonard) Boivin predeceased. Dear brother of Therese Ross predeceased, Yves (Ione), Denise Topolinksy (Mike), Herman predeceased (Pauline), Pierrette (Gerald predeceased), Marie Goshorn (Royal), and Helene Beaudoin (Fern). Sadly missed by mother-in-law Alice Bolduc, sister-in-law Yvette Bolduc, Annette Lindsay and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life gathering was held at the Goldcorp Recreation Complex on Friday, Feb. 14. A private family service was held and interment followed in the Woodland Cemetery. Donations may be made to N.O.W.S.A General Sports Program through Herold Funeral Home, Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0.
