Obituary

The family of Jane Edith Lindsay (nee Reid), sadly announce her passing on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Ear Falls. Jane leaves behind her partner Randy Kivari and his children Travis and Tyler (Melissa), children Erin Ann (Steve) Smith of Ear Falls, Timothy John Lindsay of Edmonton, Alberta, Shannon Christine Lindsay (Hunter Gartner) of Dryden. She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren Emily, Ava, Liam, Lars and Lena. Jane will also be missed by her three sisters, Candice (Kam) Lee of Atikokan, Debra (Allan) Bruyere of Atikokan, Nancy (John) Kehler of Bears Pass, and one brother Dan (Marcia) Reid of Williams Lake, BC. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane was predeceased by her son Andrew William Lindsay of Thunder Bay, her parents Clarence Woodburn and Christine Charlotte Reid of Atikokan.

Jane was born on January 14, 1961 in Fort Frances, Ontario, the youngest of five children, and lived in Pinewood with her family until the family moved to Sapawe in 1966. She later moved to Atikokan with her parents when she was in her early teens and attended St. Patrick's School and the Atikokan High School. In 1978 she moved to Victoria B.C. where she and David Lindsay started a family. She moved back to Atikokan in 1986 until 1999 when she moved to Ear Falls and worked in the sawmill until it closed in 2009. She spent several months in Thompson, Manitoba with her partner Randy before returning to work at the sawmill in Ear Falls in Jane was always a hard worker and did many jobs throughout her life, 2014.

from a cook to a lumber grader. She loved every job she had and the people she worked with and everyone found her easy to get along with.

Jane loved spending time with her grandchildren and having Emily and Ava come for sleep overs. Jane had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. Family gatherings were very special to her and spent a weekend in Nester Falls for a family reunion in the summer of 2015. She had fond memories of her trip of a life time when she traveled to Brazil with Randy in the summer of 2014.


Service will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at 11 am at St. Stephen the Martyr Anglican Church, 494 Leslie Ave Thunder Bay, officiated by Canon Ed Swayze.
