Loving memory of Jerry Melanson of Ear Falls, passed away peacefully December 26, 2022 at Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital, at the age of 92 years.  Jerry was born in Moncton, New Brunswick on December 7, 1930 to Ernest and Genereuse Melanson.  Jerry was united in marriage to Louise Caithcart, May 20, 1961, and was blessed with four wonderful children, five Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.   Jerry was a life time member of the Knights of Columbus.  Jerry was a long time resident of Ear Falls. He made many friends along the way, he was just the kind of person who drew people in.

Jerry careers were in Forestry and Mining.  He was an extremely hard worker, dedicated and determined to provide for his family. Starting out at Chukuni Lumber, going back to Moncton to bring back his brothers Roger and Stan, then going to Sceptre Dredging, and from there onto Griffith mine where he ended up retiring.

Through the years, Jerry enjoyed hockey, baseball, horseshoe and loved playing cards.  He cherished his time with his brothers, whether it would be playing hockey, cards or trips back to Moncton. Jerry was the life of the party, and usually the 1 ^st and last one on the dance floor with his wife.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital who have been called on at various times to provide care support and assistance. Thank you all.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, January 6 ^th at 11 am with Father Alan Campeau officiating . Interment will follow in the Ear Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to service from 9:30 to 10:30 am at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church.
