With sadness in our hearts, we regret to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt Lola Nowakowski.

Left to mourn are her children Helen Novak, Irene Elliot, Ted Nowakowski (Shelley), her grandchildren Destiny Glushek, Harmony Elliot, Dane Wesolowski, Talon Clement and Dylan Clement, her great-grandchildren Linden Smith and Dreea Clement, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving of nine children.

Lola was a long time resident here in Red Lake. She was very a very active community member, always the first to volunteer, but her first love and dedication was to her family.

A funeral mass was held on Saturday, June 1st at 11 am with Father Cornelius Amaechi officiating. Interment followed in the Red Lake Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday from 7 to 8 pm in the Herold Funeral Home Chapel. Donations in her memory may be made to the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital through Herold Funeral Home, Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0.

The Nowakowski family would sincerely like to thank the staff at Rivera Home Care, Red Lake Pharmacy and Medical centre; as well as the paramedics and the doctors and nurses. The care they gave Lola over the years is deeply appreciated. We would not have been able to enjoy her life for so long without all of you.
