Martin Hester, age 72, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, August 1st, 2019 at the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital.
Martin was born in Clacton, Great Britain, on November 9th, 1946, to the late Douglas and Jean Hester. At the age of 18, along with his family, they made Canada their home where he eventually settled in Red Lake.
Martin was a butcher by trade. Some of his best times were spent in his garage processing wild game and visiting with the hunters, sharing stories.
Anyone who knew Martin would know sitting by a fire or fishing were his passions, either with family and friends or peacefully on his own.
He was a quiet, gentle man who loved being with his family, friends and fur babies, while entertaining everyone with a joke or his funny T-shirts.
He will be remembered by his loving wife Diane, children Paul (Tracey), Allison (Robbie), Angie (Bill), Kathy (Dave), Donna (Glen), Douglas (Janice), Robyn (Chris), grandchildren Ryan, Ashtynn, Megan (Jonathan), Courtney, Billy, Jake, Riley, Cody (Becki), Michelle (Boe), Michelle (Jordan), Jaime (Brad), Korri (Ty), Megan (Jamie), Cortnee, Mitchell, Krista, great grandchild Charlie.
He will be dearly missed but left us with many wonderful memories in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place and as per his wishes a private family celebration of life will be held.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Hospital Auxiliary through the Red Lake Chapel, Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0
