It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Richard (Rick) Gumieny announce his passing on Thursday October 1, 2026.

Rick passed away peacefully just short of his 68th birthday in Brandon, Manitoba, with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. 

Rick is survived by his sons, Ryan Bauche (Ashley) & Trevor Bauche (Gaby) & daughter Kayla Bauche, & grandchildren. Mother, Millicent Gumieny, sisters, Bernadette (Dennis Olsen) & Genevie (Kevin McMillan) and brothers Kevin & Cory Gumieny, nieces, nephew, aunties and cousins. 

Predeceased by his Father, Peter, brother Zane and nephew Derek Olsen. 

Inurnment service with be held at a later date, as per Rick’s wishes, in Thunder Bay at Our lady of Charity Mausoleum, St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery.
