Rolly passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 4, 2025 at the age of 91.

Roland was born and raised in St. Claude, MB.  He met his wife Anne in Portage la Prairie and in 1960 they moved to Red Lake with their children where he found employment in the automotive field.  He did not like Red Lake and said as soon as he could afford a tank of gas, they were out of here. However, he soon grew to love Red Lake.  After working for several years for Labine's Garage in Cochenour and Lakeside Ford in Red Lake, he started work at J & M Service working for George Duncan.  18 years later he purchased the business in partnership with his daughter and son-in-law and continued to run the business for many years until he retired and sold Howey Bay Service Center.  He loved Red Lake and could never understand why anyone would ever want to leave here.  He continued to live in his own home until his passing.  His happy place was his cabin at Rahill.

He is survived by his daughter Debbie (Gordon) McIntyre, sons Randy and Rick (Pam) Chevrier, his 5 grandchildren Alison, Kelly, Christopher, Brittany, and Chantal, 6 great grandchildren Tianna, Bryce, Evan, Annika, Miles, Hannah, and one great grandchild Quinn. He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Josephine, wife Annette, son Rod, and grandson Greg.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 16th at 1 pm in the Red Lake Royal Canadian Legion Lounge with Keith Graber officiating.  A private interment will follow.

The family would especially like to thank Serge Desilets for his daily visits, love, and kindness shown to Rolly for many years.
