With her husband by her side, Rubina Gordon passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2026 at Northwood Lodge Home For The Aged in Red Lake, ON.

Rubina was born in Sachigo Lake First Nation in Northwestern Ontario on April 23rd, 1938, to Jean and Temus Tait. She will be missed dearly by her husband Ronald of 70 years, son William, daughters Wanda (Pierre), Joanne (Allen), Connie, granddaughters Jessie Ann, Chantal, Nikki, Kayla and 8 great grandchildren. Rubina and her husband resided in Ear Falls, Ontario and raised 4 children and 2 grandchildren.

Rubina worked for many employers throughout her lifetime and was a hardworking, dedicated employee. She especially enjoyed working for Gold Pines Camp and developed lasting friendships. Rubina worked for Northern Eagle High School as a house parent for students attending high school from remote First Nation communities. She continues to be remembered fondly. For many years Rubina was a member of the Whispering Pines Senior Club and volunteered there. She liked playing bingo, listening to country music, keeping up with the news, getting to know people and hearing their stories. And she had a special love for family fur babies.

Rubina was predeceased by her parents Jean and Temus Tait, sister Mary Jane, brother Louie and beloved grandson Donald.

She was blessed to have lived a long and good life surrounded by family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Rubina cherished the friendships she made at Northwood Lodge and formed many meaningful connections with the staff. The family would like to thank Northwood Lodge Home for the Aged for their kindness, care, and compassion shown towards her.

A funeral service will be held in the Ear Falls Chapel on Thursday, January 15th at 11 am with Kevin Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Ear Falls Cemetery.
