On January 27 th 2021, Scott (John) MacDonald passed away peacefully with his children by side. Scott was many things. A loving Father, son, brother, uncle, friend and more. Scott is survived by his Mother Sandra, his 3 children Logan (Lila), Ashley & Aubrey. His Sisters Catherine (Paul), Barbara, Florence and their families. He was preceded by his Father Alex MacDonald and his Brother Frederick MacDonald.
Scott was a man who always wore his heart on his sleeve. You always knew where he stood and that was just who he was. He was extremely hard working and always gave 110% in everything he did. He did all this with his children in mind so that he could give assistance when they needed. Scott was a strong believer in earning the things you wanted in life and always encouraged people to do their best. Scott's humor was second to none. He could light up any situation with his free-flowing wit. This never changed even in his final hours of life. He was known as a great guy by many. His friends came from all walks of life and he accepted people for who they were. We will remember him as a great father whose strong qualities we will carry forward in everything we do. Scott always talked about being grounded and humble. He was quick to lend a hand to those in need and never thought he was better than anyone else. Life dealt Scott a very difficult deck of cards however, he never gave up or stopped fighting. He will be deeply missed by those who loved and knew him best. Scott would want us to carry on with our heads held high and a sincere smile in our hearts. He was not one to accept self-sorrow and would want us to continue moving forward with our lives. Remember him in his healthier, happier years and do not focus on the end. The end is not what defines us, it is the life we lived that really matters.
We would like to send a sincere thank you to Rick Dutka. Rick has been a close family friend for over 20 years. Rick was essential in our fathers care in the end and was a true, unwavering friend all the way to our dad's final hours of life. We will be forever grateful for your Rick. We would also like to thank our Mother and our father's former wife, Chantal Cole-Fitzpatrick for her dedication and care of our father over the past 2 years. She was there for him through the worst of his illness and ensured he was able to stay at home with his dignity intact. Thanks to the both of you for your natural selflessness and for stepping up when our father needed you most.
