Silas will be lovingly remembered by his common law girlfriend Kim, his two children, father David Rae, siblings Donna Thunder, Dena Sawanis, Denise Flett, Wayne Sawanis, his children, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. He was predeceased by his mother Bonnie Sawanis and his sister Josephine.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6 ^th at 11 am at the Forestry Fellowship Hall, Red Lake  with Kevin Miller officiating.

A one hour service will be held in Deer Lake on Wednesday, July 6th.

A closed casket visitation will be held from10 am to 11 am in Forestry Fellowship Hall prior to service.

A funeral and burial will take place in North Spirit Lake First Nation.
