Red Lake is a municipality situated 535 kilometers (332 miles) northwest of Thunder Bay and less than 100 kilometers (62 miles) from the Manitoba border. It is made up of six small communities: Balmertown, Cochenour, Madsen, McKenzie Island, Red Lake, and Starratt-Olsen.
